Business is booming down at Jack White’s

-

WHILE many dread the thoughts of their business being bypassed, Tadhg Kennedy of Jack White’s says that trade has, in fact, increased since the Arklow to Rathnew stretch was officially opened last year.

‘So far it has been positive. We are lucky that we are in a good location in terms of the motorway and that the business is visible,’ he explained.

‘From our point of view there is easier access than before as it is very easy for cars to come on and off the motorway. Before, they would have to wait for ages to drive out and join the road again.’

Tadhg said that prior to the opening of the new section of road it was paramount to invest in the business which employs 35 staff members.

‘We gave the premises a bit of a face lift, put in new canopies and neon signage and we extended our car parking facilities.’

As far as the 2016 summer season goes, customers have been giving Jack White’s the seal of approval.

‘We are delighted with the increase in trade and so far we have as much custom as we can cope with.

‘We get a lot of people stopping in on Friday evenings in particular. Before, they would have been in bumper to bumper traffic from The Beehive but now they have a few minutes on their journey so they can afford to stop off,’ he said.

Now that the old section of road and the traffic jams are a thing of the past, Tadhg said that things are now very positive.

‘People complain about the county council a lot but we found them excellent to deal with, as were the contractors, BAM.’
