Jack and Jill Foundation launches appeal for Lego
THE Jack and Jill Children’s Foundation is appealing for lego donations to build a bank of home nursing hours for sick children locally.
The drop-off points for the Garden County will be located in Arklow, Kilpeddar, Kilmacanogue and Wicklow.
The foundation is asking people to liberate their unwanted Lego bricks and to donate it to the charity to fund home nursing care and respite for families all over the country who are caring for their sick child at home.
Jack and Jill has supported over 2,000 families nationwide, including 39 in Wicklow.
All that is required are unwanted and loose lego pieces that can be bagged and dropped off at one of the county’s four drop-off points. No instructions or boxes are required.
The drop-off points include the DPD depot in Kilpeddar, the Jack and Jill charity boutiques in Arklow and Wicklow or the Topaz service station in Kilmacanogue. The full details of all the drop off points are available on www.jackandjill.ie
Every €16 raised through this appeal will gift one hour of home nursing care for a sick child suffering from severe development delay as a result of brain damage, who typically can’t walk or talk, who may be oxygen dependent, tube fed and on very heavy medication.
The Jack and Jill Foundation finds that these children do better at home where their family and community want them to be.
