GLENEALY CAMOGIE

-

The Under-12s played their first match under their new coaches Katriona Rowan and Warren Kavanagh on Friday last, away to Annacurra.

The final score did not reflect their excellent performance, there were a few girls missing and the two Under-10s girls played on the team and had an great game. The final score was Annacurra 3-02 to Glenealy 2-00. Best of luck to them in their next matches and congrats to the appointment of your new coaches.

Hard luck to the Senior team who were beaten by Knockananna in the county league final in the county grounds in Aughrim last Tuesday. This young team have many years ahead of them and we wish them the best of luck in their upcoming championship matches. Congrats to Knockananna.

Glenealy hosted the Under-8s and Under-10s blitz on Saturday, July 30. There was a great buzz in the park with two home teams, two teams from Arklow, one each from Eire Og Greystones, Avondale, and Kilcoole.

Loads of goals scored across all four pitches from the future stars of these clubs. It was great to see parents, grandparents and extended families coming along to support the girls.

Thanks to all helpers from Glenealy Camogie club who organised, helped, set up and did the refreshments on the day. Also thank you to our referees on the day Megan Kennedy, Ailbhe Dowling, Aoife Weir and Erynn O’Brien.
