A Wicklow town wedding planner now living in Gorey has won the prestigious Mrs2Be Brides’ Choice Wedding Award.

Tee Corkish’s venture Pairs and Peaches was voted the Best Wedding Planner 2016 by Mrs2Be’s online community.

The website provides regular doses of bridal inspiration and a directory of wedding suppliers and venues, having been launched in 2009 to quickly become one of Ireland’s most popular wedding resources. It’s used by couples planning their wedding in Ireland or abroad.

Tee has been planning and organising weddings in the Dublin, Wicklow, Wexford, Carlow area for over six years now.

With a background in business and years of experience in the hospitality industry, she is leading the way in the wedding planning field.

‘I love what I do and its important to me that my clients get exactly what they want. Its a massive day in their lives and its an honour to be a part of it.

‘Winning this award is a privilege and the recognition from within the industry and from past clients is tremendous.

‘ To be honest I didn’t think I would win because I thought the business would be considered too small to be recognised on a national scale. I tend to position myself in the south east region so I was totally thrilled to win a national award.

‘It was also great to receive votes from former clients who took time out of their busy schedules to vote for me and say some lovely things, without any prompting from me.’

The business was first established six years ago and within a year Tee already had doubled her amount of clients. This year alone she will organise 68 different weddings.

Tee also provides in-house coordination services for Ballybeg House in Tinahely, and planning services for exclusive and private venues and for ‘marquee-at-home’ weddings in the South East. ‘I probably plan about 50 weddings a year at Ballybeg. It is such a stunning venue. You have the big country house surrounded by beautiful gardens and grounds. Then you have the medieval style ceremony room and a Victorian style marquee.’

Tee also doesn’t rely on advertising, preferring word of mouth as the best way to promote her business.

‘I never really needed advertising. Word of mouth and social media have worked a treat for me. Guests attending a wedding I planned might have been impressed and thought of me when arranging their own wedding.

‘Often it’s someone like a bridesmaid at another wedding you planned. They have a better idea of the hard work a wedding entails and know what I can produce. ‘

This was the third year the awards took place and they are open to all venues and registered businesses who offer a wedding-related service to Irish-based couples, regardless of whether or not they are customers of Mrs2Be.

Judged by both real brides and grooms and independent judges with industry knowledge, the awards recognise excellence within the wedding industry.
