Brilliant Bray are much too strong for Arklow

- JUNIOR CAMOGIE

those goals and this pressure lead to corner-forward Claire Holland getting another great goal from play before midfielder Niamh McCormack scored a quality point after some fine interplay.

Just before half-time Bray went on one last attack and the ball ended up in the hand of Gilbert again who got another goal to top off a great first half performance for the Bray woman, leaving the score 4-1 to 0-0 at half-time.

Bray kept pilling forward relentlessly in the second half, scoring an early goal after a melee in front of the Arklow goal.

Gilbert then scored a very unconventional goal pulling on the ball between her legs as the ball was rolling around in front of the Arklow goalmouth.

Bray midfielder McCormack then won the ball from a puck out and after soloing past a few Arklow defenders she went for a point but, similar to Gilbert’s goal in the first half, the ball dropped just underneath the crossbar resulting in another Bray goal.

Bray corner-forward Aoife Cunningham got a lovely goal from play after some good work by Gilbert.

The goals kept coming think and fast first through Amy Barry and midfielder Caoimhe Lohan before wing back Vicki Crimmins got Bray’s second point from play.

Gilbert scored one last goal from play to really ensure Bray’s dominance and cap off a great display from the winners.
