NEWTOWN JUNIORS
Our teams are slowly getting back to action and a couple have organised friendlies. The Under-15s played out an action filled draw with Wicklow Rovers’ Under-14A team last Saturday and the new players i.e. Ryan, Ben, Alex, Glen and Steven all showed up well along with the more established players.
As we said a number of our teams are back in pre-season training and their training times are as follows for the coming week:
U9s and 10s - (players born 2007/2008) – Thursday, August 18 - T.B.C; U-11s - (players born in 2006) - Mondays and Thursdays 7-8pm; U-12s - (players born in 2005) – Saturday, August 20 - 11.30am-1pm; U-13s - (players born in 2004) – Saturday, August 20 - 11.30am-1pm; U-15s - (players born in 2002/2003) – Thursday, August 18 - 6pm-7.15pm.
Girls U-16s - (girls born 2001-2003) – Saturday, August 20 - 11am-12pm. Upcoming Fixtures: U-15s at home to Dundrum F.C. ko Saturday, August 20, at 11.30pm; Ladies away to Shelbourne ‘ B’ ko Monday, August 22, at 7.30pm.
Just to let everyone know that the age groups 12-16 years are back the weekend of Saturday, September 3 and 4 with all other age groups to follow a couple of weeks later.
The development squad will be back at the beginning of September. Also a note to all parents please remember that the coaches are all volunteers, they don’t get paid and they do what they do because in most cases they love the game so please, this coming season, please communicate with your child’s coaches especially when they text you regards training and matches. The above times are supplied by the respective team coaches and are subject to change but all changes will be notified (fingers crossed).
Three players from the club are celebrating a birthday in the coming week and they are the Under-13s duo of Bobby Dowling and Jason Carthy and last but not least Niamh Caffrey from the girls’ Under-16s. Happy birthday to all three from everyone at Newtown Juniors F.C.
