BRAY BOWLS

-

We are now entering the last month of the summer season and our Division 1 team had a great 5-2 victory over Aer Lingus and are now firmly in contention for a top four finish following their promotion back to Division 1.

The Division 2 team made the long trip to Skerries and the seasiders from North County Dublin were in no mood to dispense favours or points and the lads retreated back to Wicklow pointless. They need a win or two before the end of the season to avoid the dreaded drop back to Division 3. Division 4 gave their their chances of survival a great boost with a win over Leinster last Monday in Bray. Keep it going lads against Crumlin this week.

The ladies team had no game this week due to LBLI Finals and hard luck to Bernadette Treacy, Chrissie Sheppard and Peg O’Toole who reached the triples final but had no luck against a good Crumlin team. Both Vets teams were in action last Thursday and Vets 1 defeated Leinster by 4-0 to keep alive their outside chance of finishing second.

The match of the week took place in Dun Laoghaire with Vets 2 taking three points home in an absolute thriller where one rink came back from a 13 point deficit to only lose by one and the other rink got 5 shots on the last end to win the rink and take the overall victory by 1 shot - proof that you’re not beaten if you are knocked down, you’re only beaten if you stay down.
