It’s easy as 1, 2, 3 for AGB

-

AGB off the mark before Oisin McGraynor landed a long range free to leave the score at 1-2 to 0-2 after 16 minutes. They added points from Jack McCall, Cathal Kelleher and two from Cormac O’Shea. Just before the break the lively Cathal Kelleher gained possession near the end line, jinked his was in and scored a great individual goal to his side ahead by 2-6 to 0-2 at half time.

Cormac O’Shea got the first score of the second half. This was responded to by Craig Byrne after seven minutes.

AGB added two points on nine and ten minutes from Cal Kelly and Cormac O’Shea, who tried to lob the goalkeeper but cleared the crossbar. In the fifteenth minute Avondale were awarded a penalty.

Conor Byrne’s shot was brilliantly saved by Kyle O’Connor and AGB quickly responded with a goal from Peter Hempenstal.

The Arklow side were now very much on top but Avondale to their credit kept plugging away. They had a point from a free by Craig Byrne and when Donal McGraynor fisted a goal from close in, it was no more than they deserved. Their final two points were scored by Ross Ward and Andy Doyle.

The AGB tally was completed by a final goal and a point from Cormac O’Shea and a point from sub Ciaran O’Shea.
