ST PATRICK’S

-

Our Senior men had a good victory on Sunday in Aughrim and are now into a semi-final against Blessington in two weeks.

Tommy Kelly was top scorer with eight points in a solid team performance which saw Brain Coen and Ritchie Murphy return to championship football. They beat Newtown by a solid score of St. Pat’s 0-18, Newtown 0-05. Well done lads!

Well done to our Junior As who beat a strong Valleymount team in the Junior ‘A’ championship on Saturday in Ashford. With a strong finish to the first half the lads had a seven-point lead 0-10 to 0-03. The lads defended well in the second half and kept the scoreboard ticking with Conor O’Brien getting the all-important goal and came out winners at full time 1-15 to 1-10.

Best wishes to all involved our Senior hurlers in the Senior hurling championship quarter-final against Avondale on Monday in Eire Og Greystones. The winner takes on reigning champions Bray Emmets in the championship semi-final.

Our Senior ladies were out in the ‘B’ championship this Tuesday. They faced Bray Emmets in Bray at 7.30pm with a final vs Blessington up for grabs.

Our U8 and U10 hurling coach Fionn Stakelum is still smiling following Tipp’s performance last weekend! Winners of our Players of the Week looking to emulate Bubbles O’ Dwyer and Seamus Callanan were Ben Currie and Daragh Bouchier - well done boys! Thanks also to County GDA Jonathan Tallon who dropped in to see our young hurlers training on Tuesday evening.

Our U10 hurlers travelled to Gorey this morning to take part in the Bill Cullen Cup, where we played the hosts, Faythe Harriers from Wexford and Arklow Rocks.

We were well able to hold our own in this company and it was a great experience for the kids.

Conor MacDonald the Wexford full-forward spoke to the group before the game and told them how he played in the same tournament when he was U10. Many thanks to Liam Flynn and Naomh Eanna Club for the invitation and a great event - our lads were impressed with the sausages and chips after the game!

Our sincere condolences to the family of Josephine (Josie) McGraynor, Sunny Terrace, Rathdrum. Deeply regretted by her loving sons Jim and Liam, daughters Ann, Eileen and Mary, sister Maura (Moore), daughters-in-law, sonsin-law, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Ar deis Dé go raibh a hanam.

There was no winner of this week’s club lotto draw of €2,400. Numbers drawn were 16, 19, 22, and 24. The bonus number was 5. There was one winner of our €250 Match 3 Prize Charlie Murphy c/o Mick Humby.

Thanks to the weekly club lotto sellers who give up their time to help raise funds for the club. It’s greatly appreciated. Make sure you buy a ticket each week and you could be the winner of our Match 4 prize of €2,500 or Match 5 €10,000 jackpot!
