WICKLOW GOLF CLUB

Wicklow Golf Club are on a roll with yet another trophy in the bag. This time it was the men’s turn again when they won the Brennan Cup in Arklow on Saturday last.

They met a very strong Tulfarris Golf Club in the final which was played in near perfect weather on a course that was in great condition.

Of the five matches, one was won and one was lost midway through the back nine. The third match was very close but Wicklow shaded it on the 17th.

Wicklow then needed one of the last two matches to clinch victory and seemed to be well in control in both on the 17th tee.

However, Tulfarris fought back and in a nail biting finish, one match went to the 19th and the other went to the last putt on the 18th before Wicklow finally made it over the line.
