ARKLOW TOWN FC

-

Another action packed week in Arklow Town FC! The Club was a thrive of activity as our season kick-started. As this new season gets underway, the club would like to express our thanks to the managers, coaches and volunteers who have come on board to ensure that this will be another successful season for our players and our club.

On Sunday our Leinster first team, under the management of two ex League of Ireland players Stephen Hurley and David O’Neill travelled to Blackrock to take on Tek Utd in their first away game of the season.

They walked away winners of this game with a score line of 3 2. Well done to them and best of luck to the players and management for the coming season.

Having received many trophies and medals last season in the WDSL, our club has entered seven schoolboy teams into the DDSL from the WDSL this season, a challenge that all these teams are rising to admirably.

We were very pleased with the news during the week that a former player at ATFC, Tom Murphy, has been signed to Everton Football Club. We all here at the club wish Tom the very best of luck.

Our very popular Little Astros Club continues every Saturday morning from 10am until 11am. Free of charge, it is open to boys and girls aged four to seven years of age. Helping with the coaching on Saturday morning was Michael Walker, an ex player and coach at ATFC, currently studying within the coaching division with Sheffield United - thanks Michael!

Our weekly club bingo is held every Thursday night in our main clubhouse hosted by our regular bingo caller Dicey O’Reilly. The first number is called at 8.30pm, with plenty of prizes on offer! Do call up, a great night is guaranteed!

Our club lotto prize fund currently stands at an impressive €6,400. Tickets are €2 each and can be obtained from our club shop, with any committee member and in various outlets throughout the town.

Please peruse our Facebook page at The Town - Arklow Town FC for pictures, match reports and events happening within our club.
