Eire Og hit for six by Annacurra
at Ballinakill a point early in the second half followed by a goal and a point from Grainne Quigley.
Annacurra were comfortably in control at this stage with Alison Moules at centre-back, midfielders Nicole Quigley and Cara Robinson and the forward line dominating play.
To their credit, Eire Og kept plugging away and never threw in the towel. Mary Kate Condren added a goal and Sarah Barnes completed her hat trick with a goal before the end. Ellie O’Neill broke the Eire Og duck with the last puck of the game.
Annacurra players were jubilant when referee Ciaran O’Shea blew his final whistle but Eire Og were not too despondent and more than happy to have progressed so far in their first year. The trophy was presented to Annacurra captain Nicole Quigley by Camogie Board chairperson Serge Goetelen.
