Club hits the road!

-

VINTAGE cars, bikes, trucks and tractors made their way around County Wicklow last weekend for the 8th Original Garden of Ireland Run.

Visiting clubs joined the Bray Vintage Car Club for a fantastic weekend of motoring.

The event was two days long and took in some of Wicklow’s finest scenery.

They started out on saturday in the valley of the two lakes, Gelndalough, and from there travelled through many of Wickloow’s fabulous country villages.

The drivers stopped along the way to soak up the atmosphere and chat to vellow vintage enthusiasts.

They made their way back to the Glendalough Hotel after enjoying the Wicklow scenery, beautiful even on a wet day. Participants enjoyed a relaxing evening of chatting and taking it easy at the hotel on Saturday night.

On Sunday, there was just a short run to the Beehive Inn for their ‘Vintage and Classic Show’, a display of a wonderful range of vehicles for everyone to enjoy in slightly clearer weather.

Donations were accepted on Sunday, with all funds raised going to COPD Support Ireland. COPD Support Ireland is a charity set up to support all those living with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). They were founded in 2013 by patients working with the support of the Irish Thoracic Society, COPD National Clinical Programme, and health care professionals.
