Lotto - There was no match four winner of last week’s lotto which was for €7200. The numbers drawn were 5, 8, 23, and 25. There were however four match three winners, each of whom win €75.

The jackpot for the draw to be held on September 26 will be for €7,400 and will be held in Timmins Pub on Weaver’s Square. Adult News - Well done to the Senior men who have staked their claim on a county final slot with an impressive four-point victory over Bray in the county semi-final.

Unusually, the bulk of the Baltinglas­s supporters who braved the elements and paid a saucy €15 into Aughrim were seated in the stand.

However, there were a few die hards on the far bank, who were not deterred by the atrocious conditions.

As the rain sheeted towards the town side, Baltinglas­s took an early lead with a Mark Jackson 45.

However lady luck shone on Baltinglas­s as a deflected ball found its way somehow to the unmarked Dan Kelly who found the net with a well-placed shot.

It was Baltinglas­s who looked the hungrier team from the outset. Their tackling was relentless and with conditions as they were, opportunit­ies were starting came their way from turnover ball.

However, a brilliant save from the Bray keeper and some wayward shots which could be forgiven in the conditions meant that Baltinglas­s, whilst leading at half-time by 1-05 to 0-01 were not flattered by the lead.

Bray came out all guns blazing in the second half but after several threats on goal, were to be left deflated by another Mark Jackson 45.

Bray were then gifted a close in free and they continued to threaten. However, with time ebbing away, Bray resorted to the long ball in on the edge of the square, which has been the Baltinglas­s Achilles heal over the past five years.

On this occasion, a well marshalled defence left these efforts fruitless on the day. Baltinglas­s had further goal chances which were not
