Pat O’Toole Division 2 (senior team) Arklow Celtic 1, Avonmore FC 4 - Having getting the better of the opening exchanges, we found ourselves behind. 1 nil nearly became 2 nil only for an excellent penaly save from stand in keeper Dean Gahan. Callum Pursey levelled matters before the break.

Second half we found another gear, Fiachra O’Hannin and Eugene Dunne both netting early; Fi’s an outstanding 30-yard strike. The classy midfielder added our fourth late on to secure the points, on a pitch where you never get anything easy. Thanks to Arklow Celtic for a great spirited game.

Next Sunday we play Glencormac Utd in Ballygannon.

Avonmore under-11 Yellow v Greystones FC under-11 - Avonmore under-11s Yellow welcomed Greystones FC to a wet and windy Tullylusk yesterday morning. The weather didn’t deter our lads however as they started the stronger of the two teams. Our passing once again was very accurate with some lovely passages of play throughout the game. Each of the lads played brilliant football, but it was Mark O’Reilly who definitely had his Weetabix for breakfast, sticking five past the Greystones goalkeeper. Great game and a great win, goal scorers today: Mark, Gavin, Kyle Kenny.

Congratulations to Cody Reid and Conor Nolan on being selected for the under-15 county representative team. Well done lads.
