Male Voice Choir launches music bursary

THE Wicklow Male Voice Choir has announced details of their bursary competitio­n to be held over the next few weeks.

The prize consists of €1,000 and a chance to perform with the Wicklow Male Voice Choir at their annual concert at the Grand Hotel on December 10.

Chairman of the Choir, Noel Geraghty, said he is thrilled to see the competitio­n going from strength to strength following its launch last year.

‘ This is an opportunit­y for some talented person or group to perform in front of a large audience and win a prize which should help them in the furtheranc­e of their musical ambitions.’

Sponsor of the bursary, Eamonn Sheridan of Sheridan Colohan Insurance Broker, stated that his firm are pleased to sponsor the bursary for this year.

‘Building on last year’s success we are looking forward to an increased level of interest and hope the successful winner will go on to great things in the future.’

The competitio­n is open to anyone over 18 years of age who lives in County Wicklow. Full details and entry forms are available from the WMVC Secretary larrywolah­an@gmail.com, the Grand Hotel and Earls Newsagents or they can be downloaded from the WMVC website www.wicklowmvc.net. All entries should be returned to The Secretary, WMVC, 6 Ard na Greine, Summerhill, Wicklow town. The closing date is November 1.
