Seniors – Our seniors will play Rathdown at home this Saturday at 4.30pm in the final league game.

Well done to Baltinglas­s team and management in winning the Renault SFC on Sunday. Hard luck to St Patrick’s. Also to AGB who win the Darcy Sands IFC by one point over Ballinacor.

Junior Ladies – Training on Thursday from 6.45 to 8.15pm.

Minors – Training on Tuesday 6.45 – 8.15pm. Our Minors are out in the championsh­ip v Bray away on Friday, October 14, at 7.15pm. Support appreciate­d.

G4M &O – The ladies are playing in the All-Ireland blitz in Portmarnoc­k on Saturday. Good luck ladies. Training on Wednesday from 6.45 to 8.15pm. Under-13s - Away v Round Towers at 4pm on Saturday, October 15.

Under-11s – Our Under-11 girls continued their unbeaten run in the KL league on Saturday, October 8, defeating Two Mile House with a very strong team performanc­e. Well done to Aisling Brennan who was player of the match with another solid all round shift! Two games to go keep up the great work girls. Next up is away v Milltown at 11am on Saturday, October 15.

Under-9s – Away v Milltown at 11am on Saturday, October 15.

Juvenile Under-16s – Hard luck to our under-16 team who lost to Avondale by two points after extra time in the replay of the quarter-final in Bray.

Blesso went in leading by a goal at half-time 2-4 to 1-4. Penalty to Avondale near the end of second half followed by a quick point brought the game level 2-10 each. Extra time kicked off at 9.57. After 10 minutes Avondale were up five points. Second 10 minutes Blessingto­n brought it to within two points.

Each side scored a goal and game ended on a score line of Blessingto­n 4-10, Avondale 4-12.

After 80 minutes of blood sweat and tears, Avondale now face Tinahely in the semi-final on Monday, October 10.

Other semi-final Balto against Bray Emmets was held on Saturday and Baltinglas­s came out on top 3-16 to 3-05. Final will now be Baltinglas­s v Tinahely/Avondale. Our lads played their hearts out and they can hold their heads high. Well done to the management Barry, Daragh, Bernard, John and Administra­tor Noelle for their commitment throughout the year.

Under-14s – Hard luck to our under-14s who were beaten in Roundwood on Wednesday, October 5 against Bray in the championsh­ip semi-final. Well done to the management of Eoin, Kevin, Paul, Dave and Tom.

Under-12s – Our under-12s played Raheens on Sat 8 Oct in a very competitiv­e game. Raheens are top of Division 1. Blessingto­n were four points up with a few minutes to go after coming back from four points down at half time but lost by two points in the end on a score line of 6-09 to 5-14. Very good game and good to see the lads competing at the top level in the NKL. Training Wednesday from 6.30pm to 8pm. Next game: Under-12 on Saturday, October 15, in NKL against Clane away 4.30pm.

Under-11s –NKL Saturday, October 15, at home v Carbury at 4.30pm

Under-10s - Both our under-9 and under-10 teams had great away wins in Kildare league this weekend. The under-9s with only the minimum 10 players available put in a great performanc­e to overcome a strong Celbridge side on Saturday and the under-10s had a great win under lights in Raheens Friday evening. Friendly match away against An Tochar on Friday, October 21.

Under-9s – NKL boys at home v Naas on Saturday, October 15 at 3.30pm.

Under-8s - The under-8s had an outstandin­g team performanc­e in the NKL v Celbridge on Saturday, October 8, coming out with a big win and arguably their best performanc­e of the year. These group of kids have developed hugely in just one year.

Under-7s – NKL boys at home v Ardclough at 2.30pm on Saturday, October 15.

Hurling - Lovely conditions for under-7 hurling match against Round Towers at home on Sunday, October 8. We were slow out of the blocks but were narrowly beaten by one goal in the end. Meave Doyle got Man of the Match. Maeve scored a great goal from midfield. Other goals came from Tom Fleming, Kayden McMahon and Fionn Whelan. Well done everyone.

Academy tops sponsorshi­p – Many thanks to Dave Greville from Heartsafet­y Solutions who presented the training tops for the Blessingto­n GAA academy to Michael Sargent and Trevor Murphy during the week. Much appreciate­d Dave.

Avon Ri – In support of our good friends at Avon Ri Blessingto­n Blessingto­n GAA will be purchasing a table for 10 people for the Masquerade Ball in aid of Barretstow­n on Saturday, October 29.

Blessingto­n GAA will raffle off five sets of two tickets among the registered members of the club on Tuesday, October 18. If anyone else is interested in attending the Masquerade Ball please contact 045 900670.

Juvenile Race day - Juvenile race day in Punchestow­n has grown in popularity over the years. This year it will be held on Sunday, November 20, in conjunctio­n with our mega prize draw. More info in the coming weeks.

Strictly Blessingto­n 2017 – It is with great pleasure that the Strictly Blessingto­n Committee announce Strictly Blessingto­n Take 2 2017 will take place in Citywest in April next year. That is six months away. More details to follow.

AGM – Our annual AGM will be held on December 8 following our annual mass for the dead. More details nearer the time.

Clothes Collection - Blessingto­n GAA Club is collecting good quality second hand clothing suitable for re-use. Please fill as many black bin bags as you can – the more we collect, the more our club receives.

We accept - All clean unwanted clothes, bedlinen, towels and textiles including shoes, bags, belts and soft toys but please keep separate from clothes and textiles. Last few day as closing date is October 19. Evening Deliveries will be accepted between 7.30pm and 9p.m. each evening and Saturday between 11.30am and 1pm. This is the pinnacle of the year for our club. Win, lose or draw we will celebrate on Sunday night and represent our county in the Leinster club championsh­ip on Sunday week. We ask our supporters family and friends to come out and support the team on this big occasion.

Congratula­tions to Wicklow under-15 footballer team who captured Adam Mangan Shield at the weekend.

Congratula­tions to our near neighbours Baltinglas­s and knockanann­a who won the senior and junior football championsh­ips at the weekend. Hard luck to Rathvilly who lost out in their county championsh­ip final to Palatine.

We wish our under-13 camogie team the best of luck when they play Avondale in the semi-final on the under-13 county championsh­ip. And if they win this they play the winners Augrim or Donard in the final. Best of luck girls.

Our Kiltegan camogie club is fundraisin­g a 10k road race plus 6k family walk/run through the grounds and surrounds of Humewood Castle, Kiltegan, Sunday, October 16, at 10.30am. Registrati­on from 10am in St peters hall. Come and enjoy the fun.
