WICKLOW AND DISTRICT CHAMBER AWARDS AT TINAKILLY HOUSE
THE Annual Business Awards organised by Wicklow Town and District Chamber were presented at their Annual Dinner on Friday night last in the Great Eastern Pavilion at Tinakilly Country House Hotel.
Almost 200 guests packed the Pavilion where guest speaker, Michael Cawley, Chairman of Failte Ireland, spoke about the role of Failte Ireland in developing Ireland’s Ancient East marketing programme.
Master of Ceremonies for the night was Catherine O’Reilly of Sherry Fitzgerald Auctioneers.
Over 800 people participated in the online vote to nominate the following categories in Wicklow Town.
The Best Retail Award winner was Bridge Street Books, while The Dairy at Phil Healy’s Pub picked up the award for Best Eating Establishment. Phil Healy’s won Best Pub and the Best New Business award was won by The Fishman/Lighthouse Restaurant.
The Outstanding Business award was presented to LetsPrint. ie/In Good Company Digital Marketing.
There were four special awards which were chosen by the President for achievements in business and community service.
Wicklow Rugby Club were one of the recipients for their sporting achievement in winning the Provincial Town’s Cup and for providing sporting participation and facilities to the local community for over 700 people.
A Special Recognition Award was presented to Mark Hackett of Shark Design for his dedication and commitment to the development of the new Wicklow Town Brand which is based on the concept of time.
A special National Award was presented to Denis Connolly, for establishing Tinakilly Country House Hotel as a destination hotel nationally and for the establishment of the Great Eastern Pavilion as the premier Wedding venue in Leinster.
A special International Award was presented to Tom O’Dowd of Astron Engineering for his Company’s achievements in establishing major export markets in the Middle East.
