KIDS’ HALLOWE’EN PARTY

O’Connors of Tinahely 6 to 9 p.m. Witches, monsters, ghosts and superheroe­s will all be welcome at the annual children’s party at O’Connors. There will be spot prizes, fun and games with DJ Ger, free drinks, snacks and much more. Costumes very welcome. Free entry.

PARANOIA

Glenart, Castle 7 to 11 p.m. (starting every 20 minutes) ‘Paranoia’ is a new adult-only Hallowe’en event that will scare you like never before! It is set in a forest with real actors, real buildings and real fear. Book online at glenartout­doors.rezgo.com. Tickets: €15.

THE EXORCIST

The Harbour Bar, Bray 8 p.m. Bray Cult Film Club presents this year’s Halloween special and finale of their Halloween season: The Exorcist. Join other film fans for what has been called ‘the scariest movie of all time’. Tickets: €2.50 or a book of ten for €10.

NIGHT TOUR

Wicklow Gaol 9 p.m. to 2 a.m. Take an eerie night tour of Wicklow Gaol, Ireland’s most haunted building, which was for many years a place of horrendous atrocities in which prisoners were subjected to torture, starvation and death. Ticket price includes tea, coffee and refreshmen­ts through the night. Tickets: €50.

STORM HALLOWE’EN PARTY

Penthouse Nightclub, Wicklow town 8 p.m. to 11.30 p.m. The Storm teenage Hallowe’en disco returns with a fully-decorated venue, Spin 1038’s DJ Martin Guilfoyle, spooky props and photo booth, Hallowe’en visuals and prizes for the best fancy dress. Under 16s only. Entry: €10.

SATURDAY, OCTOBER 29 MONSTER MASH

Hidden Valley Holiday Park 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Hidden Valley Holiday Park hosts the classic ‘Monster Mash’ with skeletons and goblins greeting visitors at reception on this most spookiest of seasons. This family fun weekend is full of excitement, costumes, treats, games and very spooky goings-on, including trick-or-treating, best costume award (both adults and children), spooky story telling, haunted games and challenges and special effects.

SCARECROW BUILDING AND PUMPKIN CARVING

Killrudder­y House 11 a.m. Kids can choose a pumpkin in the walled garden then design it and have it carved by a master craftsman. Afterwards, head over to the scarecrow plots to design and build a scarecrow for the scarecrow competitio­n. Book online at killrudder­y. com. Tickets: €30 (€20 for members) for the scarecrow plot, €15 (€10 for members) for pumpkin carving and €10 for additional pumpkins.

THE POISONOUS PANTRY

PUMPKIN PICKING

Tinahely Farm Shop 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. Children can pick out their pumpkin from the pumpkin patch and carve their pumpkin head in the scary tunnel, all with the help of Mabel the Witch and her ghosts and goblins. As an extra treat, they will go and feed the farm pigs the leftovers. Outdoor event. Places must be booked online at www.tinahelyfa­rm.ie. Cost: €15.

SPOOKY TALES, FAIRY DOORS AND MORE

Glenroe Farm Noon to 3 p.m. Join Aron for storytelli­ng in the spooky cottage, make your own Fairy Door with Hilary, nature walk with Fairy Garden, playtime in the undercover play area or in the large outdoor playground, plenty of farm animals and pets to meet, face painting, pumpkins and lots of fun.

TRICK OR TREAT ON THE STREET

Wicklow town Noon until 2 p.m. Trick or Treat on the Street welcomes children and their parents to take part in a spooky treasure hunt along Wicklow’s main street. Organised by the Foróige Way Project, registrati­on takes place at Halpin’s Room, Wicklow Gaol, from 12 noon to 2 p.m. and there will be around 15 stops at local businesses.

THE TREE OF CRAFTS MARKET

The Old Forge, Wicklow town Noon to 5 p.m. A seasonal craft fair featuring Cosplay superhero characters who will be having their photo taken with local children. The fair will be supporting the Poppy Mernagh Fund.

HALLOWE’EN FUN

Bridgewate­r Shopping Centre 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Scares, bumps, goosebumps and frights - Hallowe’en spooky fun at Bridgewate­r Centre. Free photos with Dracula.

PUMPKIN CARVING WORKSHOP

Festina Lente walled garden 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Children will be able to get creative just in time for Hallowe’en at this workshop in the Victorian walled garden at Festina Lente. Pumpkins and tools will be provided and this is suitable for ages five to 12 years. Only 12 places per workshop, early booking advisable via www.festinalen­te.ie Cost: €10 per child.

HALLOWE’EN PARTY

Ballinacla­sh Community Hall 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Ballinacla­sh Foroige Youth Club will be hosting it’s spook-tacular annual Hallowe’en party and disco in the community hall with fun, games, refreshmen­ts, prizes and surprises.

CLUB JUNIOR DISCO

St Patrick’s Hall, Greystones 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Greystones United AFC will be holding a fancy dress disco for club members aged eight to ten. There will be prizes for the best costumes and best dancers as well as a number of spot prizes. Tickets are on sale at www.guafc.ie/online. Tickets: €6.

SPOOKTACUL­AR SESSION

McGettigan’s Bray 8 p.m. To celebrate Hallowe’en, McGettigan’s Bray is getting a makeover, as a strange and eerie atmosphere creeps over the bar for their Spooktacul­ar session. A prize of €100 bar tab is up for grabs for the most terrifying outfit. There will be live music and a DJ.

MASQUERADE BALL

Avon Ri The annual Avon Rí masquerade ball returns to raise much-needed funds for Barretstow­n. There will be a drinks reception, three-course meal, raffle and live music and entertainm­ent. Tickets: €45.

ANNUAL FANCY DRESS PARTY

Lynham’s Hotel, Laragh 9 p.m. Lynham’s will be hosting their annual Hallowe’en party in aid of Crumlin’s Children’s Hospital and Clara Ladies GAA this year. There will be live music followed by a DJ, prizes for best dressed and most original costumes, plus plenty of raffle prizes. Entry: €10.

SUNDAY, OCTOBER 30 HALLOWE’EN FUN RUN

Coffee Delights, IDA Business Park, Bray 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Bray Vintage Car Club will be holding a fun Hallowe’en run, leaving Bray at 11 a.m. Fancy dress is optional and the run is open to all vintage and classic cars, trucks, bikes (pre-1990). Entry: €10 per vehicle.

Imaal Hall 2 to 4.30 p.m. The Dunlavin Residents Associatio­n invites children (up to primary school age only) to this fun Hallowe’en party in the Imaal Hall. There will be a super slide, twin lane superslide, dino playzone (under threes), toddler slide and disco. Children to be supervised by a parent/ guardian at all times. Entry: €4 per child.

FAMILY FANCY DRESS PARTY

O’Toole Hall, Rathdangan 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. If weather permits there will be a scary ghost chase from New Park down to O’Toole Memorial Hall. The chase will be followed by a pirate puppet show, magic, games and finally a disco.

FIREWORKS AT THE WEIR

Baltinglas­s 6 p.m. The annual firework display, sponsored and organised by Germaines, takes place on the Weir followed by a children’s fancy dress party back at Germaines. There is a €2 charge for the party with all proceeds go to Temple Street.

HALLOWEEN CHILDREN’S DISCO

Abigail’s, Baltinglas­s Golf Club 6.30 p.m. to 8.30 p.m. Get on your best costume and enjoy a frightfull­y good night at Abigails’ kids’ disco from 6.30p.m. to 8.30 p.m. Therewill be lots of prizes up for grabs. Free entry.

DRAG BINGO

Royal Hotel, Bray 7 p.m. This Hallowe’en drag bingo night is taking place to raise money for Meningitis Research Foundation and Pieta House and is being held in memory of two Bray teenagers, Keelan O’Connor and Jack Harvey, who passed away in 2015. Fancy dress is essential. Tickets: €10.

Tickets: €15. CARRIE Mermaid Arts Centre 8 p.m. This terrifying thriller, based on a Stephen King novel, tells the story of a girl brought up by her psychotica­lly religious mother.
