Dwyers win a total thriller! Brave Barndarrig defeated

- PAT DUNNE

at Ballinakill 4-06 to 2-08.

Sean Leonard pointed a free off the carpet for the opening score of the second half. Malachy Stone pointed to reel in the lead as Dean Mackey was winning a lot of ball.

Andy Foley and Ruairi Phelan each pointed for Dwyers. Barndarrig were unlucky not to get a goal as a Rob Henderson pile driver was brilliantly saved by Daniel Troy and a Conor Collier rebound crashed back out of the crossbar.

A Reid Byrne shot from 40m out found the back of the Barndarrig net with 48 on the clock. Malachy Stone then goaled as the game swung around in the last quarter. Leonard pointed another free to leave six in it with five to play.

Rob Henderson sensationally goaled for Barndarrig with two minutes to go before David Lawrence pointed on the 60 minute mark to put four in it.

And then, as if any more drama was needed in this game, in the 64th minute, Sean Leonard fisted another goal to leave just a point in it. Was there to be any more?

The answer was no as the fulltime whistle sounded to bring an end to an magical game of football.
