With Wicklow 1 goal up the Dublin side put a lot of pressure on the Wicklow defense and were rewarded 12 minutes in with a goal from a penalty corner to equalise.

Wicklow always looked the stronger side but definitely didn’t dominate as they have done in most matches this season.

Avoca had a lot of the possession and looked dangerous on a number of occasions in the Wicklow half.

Wicklow’s goalie, Hannah Farmer, made a number of great saves to keep it one all at the half time whistle.

Wicklow had a far better second half and after minutes another goal was scored by their forward Keelan Glenanne. They really upped the momentum and their hard work paid off when schoolgirl Deirdre Mc Grane, having just subbed on, scored their third goal. Not happy with just one, she scored her second goal less than five minutes later, putting Wicklow three ahead.

At the final whistle Wicklow were happy with a 4-1 victory. Best on the day for Wicklow were Hannah farmer and Deirdre McGrane.
