An excellent stocking filler is the Wicklow County GAA Year book which is now available from John Gill 087 060 1669 for €10.

The 2016 Annual General Meeting of St Patrick’s GAA took place in the Clubhouse on Thursday December 15th at 8p.m. Our chairperso­n John Gill started the proceeding­s. All in attendance received a very substantia­l and informativ­e reports from Secretary James Phelan and Treasurer Alan O’Brien. In his address John Gill thanked all involved with our club whose time and energy made it a very busy year with many events and activities both on and off the field.

A BIG thank you to Alan O’Brien who has stepped down from treasurer after five years of excellent work. The appreciati­on of the expertise that Alan brought to the role was indicated by Gerry Farrell with unanimous agreement by all present.

On the night Robert Hollingswo­rth declared he was not going forward as Senior football manager for 2017 and thanked everyone for the support the committee, club members and supporters had given him, his management team and the players over the last two years. Thank you Robert and your management team of Gary, Liam, Alan and Lee and all the players for the roller coaster ride over the last two years.

Well done to our own Padge McWalter and Jack Dunne and all involved with the Wicklow Schools Football team who defeated Marist College in the Leinster Colleges P.P. Schools SF ‘A’ Quarter-Final on a scoreline of Wicklow Schools 2-10 to Marist College, Athlone 2-8. They will now take on St. Peter’s Wexford in the P.P. Schools SF ‘A’ Semi-Final.

Congratula­tions to the Wicklow County Management Committee for 2017. Best wishes to our own Colm Finnegan County Treasurer, Mick Hagan County Insurance Officer and Michael Murphy Leinster Council Rep.

Congratula­tions to all the 2016 Wicklow GAA Award Winners who were announced at the County Convention especially our own JHC: Eoghan O’Mahony (St Pat’s) who had a fantastic year in winning the League and Championsh­ip double.

County footballer of the year: Rory Finn (Kiltegan); Club footballer­s: Joey Kelly (Baltinglas­s); IFC: Austin Gleeson (AGB); JAFC : Aaron Nugent (Ashford); JBFC: Darren Flynn (Knockanann­a); JCFC: Tom Kenna (An Tochar). MFC: Darragh Fitzgerald (AGB).

County hurler of the year: Christy Moorehouse (Bray Emmets); Club hurler: John Henderson (Bray Emmets); IHC: Jeffrey Bermingham (Kiltegan); MHC: Jack Doyle (Carnew), Club Person of the year: John Timmons (Kiltegan), Camogie player of the year: Ciara Byrne (Knockanann­a); Ladies football: Amy Murphy (An Tochar); Handball: Jerome Willoughby (Coolboy). Two lifetime achievemen­t awards: Tom McHugh (Ashford); Patsy Vickers (Eire Og Greystones).

From January 1st 2017, mouth guards will be mandatory for all adult ladies footballer­s. PRO have come on-board with the WGPA to supply mouth guards to all its members who play Ladies Football.

We all wish Michaela Dickenson who sustained a broken collar bone recently a speedy recovery to full health.

The ladies juvenile presentati­on will take place on Sunday, January 15.

We had no jackpot winners in our club lotto this week! Numbers drawn were 2, 17, 18 and 22. The bonus number was 15. We had two match three winners – Joey Dunne c/o Colm Byrne and Ann Jones c/o Billy O’Rourke.

Thanks to the weekly club lotto sellers who give up their time to help raise funds for the club. It’s greatly appreciate­d. Make sure you buy a ticket each week and you could be the winner of our match four prize €2,800 or match five €10,000 jackpot!
