Avonmore U-11’s Yellow v. Carnew U-11’s: Avonmore U-11’s yellow kicked off the new year with a great win over Carnew United FC in Tullylusk. Starting strong and dominating the game we were soon three goals up and cruising towards half-time.

Carnew had other ideas however and battled hard. They soon put one past our goalie and within minutes found the net again. Strong words from the Avonmore managers at half-time got the lads going again, and in the second half the floodgates opened and we put another five on the scoreboard. Excellent display of football today by Oscar Dowling, and also by Gavin Cullen who put five on the scoresheet. A great team performance lads. Goal scorers: Kyle Kenny, George Oxley and Gavin Cullen.

Avonmore U-11’s Green v. Roundwood U-11’s: Avonmore FC U-11’s Green team welcomed Roundwood to Tullylusk for their first game back after the Christmas break. From the start Avonmore made their presence felt. Roundwood found it hard to get out of their own half in the first 10 minutes and Avonmore had taken two superb goals in that time. Caden scored four and Aaron Conway scored to make the half time score 5-1.

The second half was much more exciting for both teams. Jake Hudson took over scoring duties as Caden went off injured and racked up 4 of his own with Oisin scoring two also. Declan Murphy of Roundwood came out of goals in the second half to score a hattrick of his own. Both teams had a lot to be cheerful about, all goals were cheered by both sets of fans and players and the atmosphere was great. Avonmore won the game 11-4.
