NOW OPEN FOR BUSINESS

-

TEXACO Junction 12 is now open for business. Situated just off the N11 at Newtownmountkennedy, the new service station is just 200 yards from the Junction 12 interchange on the main Dublin to Wexford dual-carriageway.

A family business owned by Gerard, Cheryl and Benjamin Marbach, from Enniskerry and employing in excess of 20 staff members, Texaco Junction 12 is perfectly placed to cater for local and passing trade.

Since its opening 10 weeks ago, it has already become a firm favourite with local residents and the owners are now keen to let the wider public know about all the services available.

Attractively finished in bright aluminium cladding with a full-length glass-frontage, giving it a bright, airy interior, the centrepiece of the store development is a Bewley’s Coffee café, complete with its own exclusive table seating area.

Serving the full choice of Bewley’s aromatic coffees and barista-style creations, its food offering includes a selection of sweet and savoury items that extends from Danish pastries, muffins and other confections to premium hot food, toasted sandwiches, paninis and more.

On-site facilities include a well-stocked convenience store operating under the Daybreak brand.

Open from 6 a.m. until 10.30 p.m. daily, plans are in hand to extend this to a 24 hour a day operation. Other facilities on site include a choice of roller and jet car wash systems, car parking for up to 85 vehicles and rest room facilities.

The project is one that has been coming to fruition since 1999 when they first viewed a brochure promoting the sale of the site.

Gerard Marbach has had a long career in the motor industry, first in motor sales including a period as main dealer for Rover/Land Rover in Dun Laoghaire.

This later brought him into service station operation and ownership, his association with the Texaco brand beginning in 2009 when he acquired an outlet in Shankill that he redeveloped and reopened in 2011.

‘Because Wicklow is a popular touring destination for Irish and overseas motorists, we wanted to align ourselves with a fuel brand that is well known and trusted internationally, and Texaco was our first choice. Aware of the very successful relationship we enjoy in Shankill, it made perfect sense to join with the Texaco brand in Newtownmountkennedy also, Gerard said.

Representing an investment in excess of €4million, work on construction of the new outlet began in 2016.

Looking ahead, plans include the construction of a motor showrooms and a retail development styled on the lines of Cork’s renowned English Market. With an expected 2018 completion date, it will be designed and built on the Continental model, housing a bakery, restaurant and numerous other artisan outlets, with 250 car parking spaces adjoining.
