Ryan stars for terrific Town! Wicklow side beat Coolboy

- U-15 PREMIER CUP

The half closed out with another Rawson save. This time the ball seemed destined to drop to Ryan for an easy tap in but John Young the Coolboy defender came from to nowhere to avert the danger.

The second half continued along the same lines. Town on the attack and Coolboy defending bravely.

Another last ditch tackle off a Rawson save saw James McGing bundle the ball away from danger.

Eventually Coolboy got a foothold. A corner swung in from the right was partially cleared and McGing’s snapshot deflected just wide. Soon after a ball crossed from the right fell to Matthew Ging who stroked the Coolboy equaliser home.

Both teams pushed on now. From a Ging corner McGing glanced just wide for Rangers.

However, luck cruelly dealt Coolboy a fatal blow.

A long ball intended as a cross by Luke Kelly was misjudged by the otherwise excellent Rawson and he looked on in horror as the ball hit the net.

Coolboy could not engineer another equaliser and Town deservedly held out for victory.

Man of the match was Matthew Ryan, who was a constant thorn in Coolboy’s side.
