Stunning properties come on the market

-

TWO magnificent homes fit for royalty and celebrities alike, have come on the market in Wicklow.

Castlefield House, just outside Delgany village, set in its own private grounds, comes with a whopping price tag of €5.5 million.

Businessman owner Michael Noble and his wife Astra began the project in 2005, working with architect Colum O’Broin and interior designer Patricia Fitzpatrick, to realise their ideal family home.

The house contains dream features including a home cinema complete with bar and dance floor, a tri-aspect kitchen plus separate butler’s kitchen; lift connecting the levels, bespoke 4,200 piece crystal chandelier overhanging the centre of a curving staircase; a home gym and snooker room; a series of bathrooms of competing magnificence and a sauna.

The turn-key six-bedroom home has a geothermal heating system that gives the house a rating of A3, an integrated sound system and CCTV and comes with planning permission for a swimming pool, gym and solarium.

Meanwhile over in Ashford, Hunter’s Rest, whose most recent resident was Tudors star Jonathan Rhys Meyers, is on the market with an asking price of €995,000.

The luxurious mansion, which boasts an acre of landscaped gardens lined with mature trees, raised flowerbeds, gravel pathways, lawns and a stream, is close to Killoughter crossroads and the nearest village is Ashford, which is about four kilometres away.

The house was on the market previously but was taken off last year to facilitate a corporate let, and was subsequently occupied by Rhys Meyers during the shooting of Vikings at Ashford Studios in Ballyhenry, about three kilometres from the property. The house is now back on the market a year later — at the same price as before.

Inside the five-bedroom home floor-to-ceiling windows and doors and two stair cases bring a Hollywood style to the house.

The master bedroom, fitted with oak floors, has shuttered floor-to-ceiling windows and a seating area around a gas fire and has a walk-in wardrobe and an en-suite bathroom.

The kitchen opens directly off the dining area and is fitted with walnut cabinets and a breakfast bar and a separate utility room.

The terraced patio is fitted with a built-in barbecue, fridge, seating and space heaters. Hunter’s Rest is for sale with Sherry FitzGerald Catherine O’Reilly in Wicklow town
