Lá na gCLub took place on Sunday and what a day it was. Lá nag Club is about celebrating all things GAA, it is an opportunity for the club to highlight the important role of members, players, supporters’ and families in the GAA and for the local community to get involved and have fun and we certainly did that on Sunday.

We kicked off at 12.30pm with a 5km fun walk/run around the Green Lane, followed by some fantastic Irish Dancing from Gohery School of Dancing to start us off, a big thank you to Fiona Kavanagh for organizing this.

Next up we had mini games, penalty shootouts and skills tests for all ages and then our Senior ladies and men’s teams took part and played games against all of our juvenile teams.

This, by far, was the kids favorite part getting to play with their idols! A big thank you to everyone who was involved, to Jordan Deans for providing us with the sound system and music all day, thank you to the lovely ladies who took care of refreshments in the kitchen and to those who baked, made sandwiches etc.

Patterson’s butchers provided us with a BBQ all day, there wasn’t a burger or sausage left at the end of the day so it’s safe to say it was thoroughly enjoyed so a massive thank you once again to Patterson’s.

We had fruit sponsored by Quinns and water sponsored by Fishers Centra and Moojus from Glanbia – thank you to all businesses.

Well done to the organising committee who pulled out all the stops to make sure it was a great day for everyone, everything ran
