ART GROUP’S EXHIBITION AT GLENDALOUGH GREEN CAFE
THE ARTISTIC talents of a number of people who participated in Brockagh Art Group’s weekly art classes are currently on display at an exhibition in Glendalough Green Cafe in Laragh.
The exhibition, which will see up to 10 artists display two pieces of work, is to mark the end of the year for Almha’s students.
Almha Roche is an artist from Laragh who teaches adult and children’s classes locally from September to May each year at Brockage Resource Centre.
‘ There will be a mixture of styles of paintings being exhibited from oils, acrylics and watercolors,’ Almha said.
‘ The end of year exhibition is a great way for the artists to see their works hanging on walls in a public place and something they should be proud of. They can also see the progress they have made.’
She said her classes are for people of mixed experience in art – from beginners to those who may have studied the subject.
She said: ‘ The classes are set in an informal atmosphere and its set up like a studio where the individuals can just work away at their own pace.’
The venue for the exhibition, Glendalough Green Cafe, was chosen for the exhibition as it’s where the artists and Almha go for coffee after classes. The exhibition opened on Friday, May 19, and will run until Tuesday, May 30.
The artists who are exhibiting in the exhibition include Jose O’Connor, Margaret Conroy, Nancy Falkow, Jackie Stuart, Enda Fitzpatrick, Deborah Von Metzradt, Lisa Mahony and Almha Roche.
