PI QUIZ

Pi Quiz is a team competition for Junior Certificate Students organised by the Cork branch of the Irish Maths Teachers’ Association. The competition was carried out in nine different venues across the country on Friday evening, May 5. The competition offers students an opportunity to practice Junior Certificate style questions in a team setting. There are eight rounds to the quiz where each round is carried out over a six minute period.

Seven teams worked through the questions and the standard of work on the evening was very high. Temple Carrig Secondary School came out with the highest score on the night, followed by our own team in CCM, comprising Mark Britchfield, Jaafar Ali Jaafar, Jessica Finnegan and Wiktoria Dolgoruki, and East Glendalough came in third.

It was a really enjoyable evening and an interesting one to see young talent work together through problems and come up with a solution that all were happy with.
