Golfing enthusiast­s and club supporters / sponsors are reminded our annual golf classic takes place in Coolattin G/C on Sunday next June 4 (Holiday Wknd).

Tee times are available from 2.30pm to 5.30pm. We would be delighted to hear from anyone willing to enter a team , provide sponsorshi­p or to help out in any way, a team of four to enter costs €40 per person (meal provided) sponsors/supporters can sponsor a tee box, any donation would be greatly appreciate­d , Prizes will be of the usual top quality and what better way to spend an afternoon than in the wonderful setting that is Coolattin G/C with sunshine promised.

The Junior football team will be hoping to build on the share of the spoils garnered against Eire Og Greystones in their last outing in Division 3 of the league when they entertain Knockanann­a on our home patch this Friday evening, June 2. Throw in time is at 7.30pm.

Supporters are reminded that access to the sideline area will be restricted to team mentors (6) and substitute­s only.

The Ardeen bank makes for an ideal vantage point and we would appeal to home and visiting supporters to co-operate with us in this arrangemen­t for home games going forward.

Any supporter unable to access the bank will of course be facilitate­d with a seat on the sideline, just make any player or committee member aware of your requiremen­ts.

Club members Declan (Gooch) Nolan, Noel Murphy and David Whelan are busy preparing to take on the Ring of Kerry cycle challenge in July. The two elder statesmen will of course use all of their cycling skills and experience to help the younger member stay in touch with the pelethon.

The lads will donate all monies raised in sponsorshi­p/donations to the Irish Cancer Society.

The under-11 football team continue to impress, they had a good win over a gallant Tinahely side on the Fairgreen on Wednesday last.

This talented group under the guidance of Daragh Gregan, Anthony Cullen and Sam Walker take on Annacurra in a challenge game at 7.15pm on this Wednesday evening, May 31, on the Fairgreen.

If you’re about and have an hour to spare drop in and and support please.

On Sunday next, June 4, the 11s will take part in a tournament organised by the Tinahely Juvenile club.

On this Friday, June 2, the under-13 St Marys football team take on Tinahely in a challenge game at a venue to be decided.

The next instalment in the ever popular Go Games series takes place on Friday, June 9, and Tinahely is the venue.

Parents will be notified of start time and travel arrangemen­ts prior to the games.

Further testament to the the growing numbers participat­ing and to the increased activity at juvenile level the club will this year host its very own Cúl Camp

The camp will run from August 14 to 18 on the Fairgreen catering for boys and girls aged from six to 13 years.
