All roads lead to Charlesland for Cumann na mBunscol day

THIS year’s Allianz Cumann na mBunscol Sports Day will take place in Charlesland Sports and Recreation Park, Greystones on Wednesday, June 7, at 10 a.m. sharp, beginning with the parade.

Participants are asked to please remember that those taking part in the poc fada and ball throw must wear helmets and those doing the poc fada must bring a hurley to compete.

Those competing in tug of war may wear boots and gloves but not body suits.

Thanks are offered to all those who came to the meeting and volunteered for jobs as the successful running of the Sports Day would be impossible without it.

Let’s hope the sun shines and looking forward to seeing everyone there on the day.

Interested in a camogie blitz? If your school would be in a position to attend a camogie blitz in the next few weeks (on a Wednesday) please let Camogie Officer Fiona Ni Shuilleabhain know by email (fiona.nishuilleabhain3@mail.dcu. ie) or text (0863748903) what dates your school is available and she will try to arrange a blitz if there are enough schools available.

Third and fourth Class Boys/ Girls Football - Allianz Cumann na mBunscol are hosting a nine-aside third/fouth class boys Gaelic football blitz on Wednesday, June 14, and a nine-a-side girls Gaelic football blitz on Wednesday, June 21. Both blitzes will start at 11.45am in Bray Emmets GAA. Schools are encouraged to enter multiple teams if possible. Please let Garrett Doyle Wicklow GAA know if you will be attending. Junior Infants ‘Have A Ball’ Fun Day - This is a fun day for junior infants in schools from west Wicklow.

The day will focus on fun games and activities for children that focus on improving movement skills.

The Leinster Roadshow inflatable pitch will also be there on the day.

Please note if your school is interested in taking part on the day please contact Paul Garrigan as soon as possible as numbers will be limited on the day.

Venue: Hollywood GAA Grounds, June 21 from 11.30am1.00pm.

First and second class ninea-side mixed hurling/camogie blitz (max two teams per school) - Schools: Kilbride, Lacken, St Marys, Blessington No 1, Gaelscoil Blessington, Blessington Ed Together, Dunlavin, Hollywood, Baltinglass, Kiltegan, Tynock, Talbotstown, Donard and Valleymount.
