ARKLOW TOWN FC

-

Arklow Town FC are proud to announce the appointment of the two managers who shall take the helm of the LSL first team for the upcoming 2017/18 season.

Gavin Doyle and Willie Kavanagh, two long serving and reputable players with our club, having played on many award winning teams throughout the years with Arklow Town FC, shall take the reins of our first team.

Two top ranking players and profilic goalscorers, with many football awards to their names, these two individuals combined bring a wealth of experience and a profound knowledge of the game to our LSL side.

This is their second stint at spearheading an LSL side, having very successfully managed the LSL first team some three seasons ago and we at the club are honoured to welcome them both back as managers.

The club, in tandem with the managers, will strive to provide quality coaching combined with expert management skills, coupled together to bring our LSL side back into top flight football.

As we enter into this exciting new era, we at the club wish both managers every success in their roles.

New players interested in joining the team are most welcome to contact Gavin (085 1054005) or Willie (087 9206278).

Our under-12A team travelled to Belfast last Friday to take part in the annual Bryson Cup Tournament.

In a very exciting and thoroughly enjoyable two days of football, our lads impressed with their performance on the pitch against a strong Belfast selection.

In their first game they drew two all and narrowly lost out in the second game by a scoreline of 2-1.

Well done to the team, who thoroughly enjoyed their experience in Belfast.

They all did our club very proud and represented Arklow Town FC most commendably.

While our Arklow Town contingent may have narrowly lost out on the Bryson Cup, on a brighter note Arklow Town player Paudi Kavanagh was voted Overall Player of the Tournament and Aaron O Brien was voted Man of the Match in the first leg as voted by the linesmen and referees officiating the games. This is a great accolade, well done to the two boys.

Six under-12A players were selected for the FAI Regional Emerging Talent Programme team that took part in the Tracie Lawlor Tournament in Curracloe, Wexford on Sunday.

Representative players involved were Paidi Kavanagh, Aaron O’Brien, Alex Kavanagh, Conn Keaney, Tadgh O’Shea and Jack Flusk. Well done!

Our under-17 DDSL team travelled to Tallaght on Sunday morning to meet with Sacred Heart FC to play their first Cup game of the season.

They won this game by a scoreline of 3-1, goals courtesy of Andrew Maher and Dan Fitzsimmons with a brace.

Meanwhile our under-14A DDSL team won against Wayside with a scoreline of 6-4.
