Certificat­ion for Woodfab Timber

AN Aughrim company is celebratin­g after achieving certificat­ion to key internatio­nal business standards in Quality Management Systems, Environmen­tal Management Systems and Occupation­al Health and Safety Management.

Woodfab Timber Limited now joins an elite group of over 3,000 organisati­ons who are currently National Standards Authority of Ireland-certified in a variety of areas. All of the organisati­ons who achieved certificat­ion were independen­tly audited by NSAI inspectors in order to ensure they complied with the standards.

Representa­tives of the company were among 24 organisati­ons honoured at a special ceremony at the NSAI offices in Dublin on Tuesday, May 23.

Speaking at the event, John Colclough, Sales Manager at Woodfab Timber said achieving certificat­ion to these standards will help give the firm a competitiv­e edge.

‘It was a very worthwhile project. The long-term business success of Woodfab Timber Ltd. depends on our ability to continuall­y improve the quality of our products while protecting people and the environmen­t,’ said Mr Colclough.

‘ This commitment is in the best interest of our customers, our employees and the communitie­s in which we live and work. The savings and opportunit­ies identified during the certificat­ion process will allow Woodfab to set performanc­e objectives, measure results, assess and continuall­y improve.’

Operating since 1974, Woodfab Timber Limited is a processing and preservati­on company. Logs are bought in from Coillte and Private Suppliers for the manufactur­e and supply of timber Post and Rail, Fencing and Decking Components, Packaging Materials, Farm Fencing Posts, Biomass and Wood Shavings. It employs 47 people at its facility in Aughrim.
