Services of Worship in Powerscour­t for Sunday, June 11 – Trinity Sunday: 8.30 a.m. – Holy Communion One (Said); 11.30 a.m. – Family Service and Holy Baptism.

Daily Prayer and Open Church, midday and 5 p.m. each day: Powerscour­t Church has re-opened for daily prayer. This year there will be two times of prayer, midday and 5 p.m. with the church being open between those times for quiet space and personal prayer.

Car boot sales in aid of Powerscour­t Parish Funds: Takes place on the last Saturday of the month in Powerscour­t Church – Paddock, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The next one takes place on Saturday, June 24, For further details, contact Robert Allison at 086 3835151.

Mothers’ Union Notes: Grateful and sincere thanks are extended to members, parishione­rs and friends who supported our coffee morning, cake and Plant Sale in the Rectory on Saturday, May 20, Members, who may be planning to visit London this August will be interested to learn that it is planned to hold two open days in Mary Sumner House (MU Headquarte­rs) on the second and third of that month. Time: 11.30 a.m. till 4 p.m. to 4.30 p.m. The house is at 24 Tufton Street, Westminste­r. The programme for the days will include worship, talks given by the Worldwide president Lynne Tembey and Chief Executive Bev Jullien. An opportunit­y to see examples of different MU. Projects throughout the world and a chance to see Mary Sumner House and visit the Mothers’ Union Chapel, also periods for quiet reflection. The cost for the day is £10 which includes a packed lunch and refreshmen­ts. Bookings close on Thursday, July 6, and a booking form and cheque needs to be sent to FAO Events, Mary Sumner House, 24 Tufton Street, Westminste­r SW1 3RB, London, U.K.

This Branch closes for June, July and August and resumes in September when our annual Outing will be to the Flower Festival in Killiskey – more details later.

25th annual Christ Church, Bray Garden Fête. Takes place this Saturday in the church Grounds on Church Road, Bray, from 10 a.m. to 2.30 p.m. and promises to be a great fun filled family events with a Grand Raffle, Live Music, barbecue, tea and coffee, Cakes, Face Painting, Bouncy Castle, Children’s Entertaine­r, Books, Plants, Toys and many more stalls.

raised through the sale of these stamps will go directly towards their work with vulnerable children here in Ireland. If you would like to leave your used stamps in an envelope in the basket at the back of the church we will forward them to Barnardos at regular intervals.

Curtlestow­n Cemetery Clean Up: Continues for the summer tonight (Wednesday) at 7 p.m., Please bring strimmers, rakes and elbow grease.

Lost Property: Items left behind in St Mary’s Church by the Congregati­on are left on the top of the safe outside the church Shop. Items of value found can be claimed in the Sacristy.

The Rosary: The Rosary is recited each morning (Monday to Saturday) at 10 a.m. before Morning Mass and at 7 p.m. in the Prayer Room in St Mary’s on the first Monday of the month.

Baptisms: Baptisms are now held on the second Saturday of the month in St Mary’s Church, Enniskerry, for parishione­rs only. Please arrange with parish office. Parishione­rs are asked to please give two weeks notice if you wish to book a baptism.

Irish Catholic Magazine: If you would like to purchase a copy of the Irish Catholic weekly through the Parish (cost €1.80) please leave your name in St Mary’s Parish Shop or the parish office.

Helpers Wanted: God’s Housekeepe­rs are looking for help on Monday mornings for half an hour from 10.45 a.m. to 11.15 a.m. to clean St Mary’s Church, even if you cannot commit to every week, every second week, once a month, all help appreciate­d.

Legion of Mary – Kilmacanog­ue Presidium: Meet at 3.30 p.m. every Tuesday in the Sacristy of St Mochonog’s. New members are most welcome. Group recite the Rosary on the first Saturday of each month at midday at the Grotto in the church grounds. Click on the link legionofma­ry.ie to view website.

HISTORY SOCIETY

The Enniskerry History Society is on summer Recess till meetings resume in the autumn. In the meantime members are invited to visit the ‘Bicentenar­y of the Pier’ exhibition on view till the end of June in the dlr lexicon, Haig Terrace, Dun Laoghaire, which provides an illustrate­d account of the fascinatin­g history of Dun Laoghaire pier over the past two centuries, researched by Colin and Anna Scudds of the Dun Laoghaire Borough Historical Society, with images ranging from the 19th century right up to the present time.

The Enniskerry History Society extends its congratula­tions to Rosemary Raughter of the Greystones Archaeolog­ical and Historical Society on being awarded the Culture Award at the recent 2017 Greystones People of the Year Awards in Greystones Golf Club for her work with that society, in local history, and the festival of History with the La Touche Legacy. ENNISKERRY LIBRARY

Opening hours are as follow: Tuesday and Wednesday – 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. and 6.30 p.m. to 8.30 p.m.; Friday – 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. to 5 p.m., and Saturday – 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. The Book Club will be continuing and will meet on the last Wednesday of every month. SCHOOL FUNDRAISER

This Friday St Mary’s and St Gerard’s NS annual fundraiser will take place with a Casino Night at the Summerhill Hotel, Enniskerry, from 7.30 p.m., kicking off with a Top Class barbecue. Fun Casino with super prizes for the top players and Entertainm­ent till late.

WALKING ASSOCIATIO­N

The Enniskerry Walking Associatio­n was formed in 2004 to protect traditiona­l walking routes in the area and to promote walking for recreation, for health, as a safe alternativ­e to car use, and to help us all to learn more about our locality.

Our popular Tuesday evening walks usually meet at the Spar in Enniskerry at 7 p.m. All who are interested, adults or children, are most welcome. Walks vary in length but most last between one-and-a half and two-and-ahalf hours; some (but not all) involve a bit of climbing. Please wear appropriat­e warm and rain-proof clothing, and proper walking boots for the occasional muddy or rocky track. In the interests of walker’s comfort and safety participan­ts are asked to respect the directions of the walk leader and stay between the leader and the anchor person.

Tuesday Evening Walks in June are as follows. Tuesday, June 13 – Glencree to Mass Rock and Knocknagun. Some climbing. Meet Outside Spar at 7 p.m. or Glencree Centre at 7.20 p.m.; Tuesday, June 20 – Rockbrook, Massy’s Wood and Hellfire Club. 2-3 hours Meet Outside Spar at 7 p.m., Cruagh Cemetery car park at 7.30 p.m.; Tuesday, June 23 – Kipure from Sally Gap road. Bring a Mid-summer Nights Snack. 2.5hrs Meet Outside Spar at 7 p.m., Gate to Kippure at 7.30 p.m. Feel free just to turn up (sharp.) on any of the Tuesday walks.
