Tenors to join Voices at Russborough at weekend

-

WEST Wicklow Voices is to perform with The Celtic Tenors in the stunning surrounds of Russborough House for a magical summer evening’s fully seated concert in the Hippodrome arena on Saturday, June 17.

The choir, formerly West Wicklow Choral Society, was formed in the summer of 2014 by two music students from Maynooth University – with Conor O’Reilly taking over as conductor in November that year.

The choir has already performed with some of the finest musicians and singers in Ireland.

The concert will be the first time West Wicklow Voices will perform with The Celtic Tenors. However, they have worked with James Nelson, one of the tenors, who is from Baltinglass, on a number of occasions.

‘We did perform a concert with James earlier in the year for a charity he is involved helping to build schools and accommodation for orphanages in Nairobi and that concert was fantastic,’ said Conor O’Reilly, Choir Director.

‘We are really excited about performing again in Russborough House and alongside The Celtic Tenors. We do have a number of members who are long time Celtic Tenor fans so that will be great for them too.’

Two of the choir members Nuala Whittle and Jacinta Walsh will perform solos on the night while the choir will perform a number of arrangements including ‘Holy City’, ‘Meeting of The Waters,’ and ‘Sometimes A Prayer Will Do’. Musician Deirdre Shannon will also perform on the night.

Tickets for the concert, which starts at 8pm, are available from Russborough House in Blessington at €25 each.
