Well done to our under-8 and under-10 camogie girls who took part in the monster blitz at Ballinakil­l. Training continues every Thursday from 6.45pm to 7.45pm at St. Pats NS.

A great evenings hurling took place between ourselves and Eire Og on Wednesday in Dunbur. We got the better of the Division 1 fixture, and a strong finish from Eire Og saw them claim the spoils in Division 2, after a gallant effort from our lads. Well done to all and see you for training on Monday next.

On Friday our junior ladies welcomed Eire Og to Dunbur on a fabulous sunny evening. Pat’s girls proved too strong for Eire Og and led at half time 4-08 to 0-05. The second half proved no different the girls put on an excellent display of football with the scoreline finishing 14-12 to 1-10.

Scorers: Sadbh Murphy Captain 4-03, Niamh Caffrey 4-01, Aimi Healy 2-03, Niamh McSorley 0-02, Saoirse O’Reilly 2-01, Sinead McGettigan 1-01, Aine Kavanagh 1-00 and Luci Hobbs 0-01.

Well done to Liam and Trina Keogh who surprised the under-12s with a trip to River valley activity park in Redcross for their training.

Have you got any used football boots/hurling helmets you are not using? The club would love them. They can be dropped into the gear shop every Saturday morning to help with the club gear exchange program.

Don’t forget tuck shop and club gear shop open every Saturday morning 11-12.30.

Jerseys that have been pre-ordered from Alan O’Brien will have first preference.

Jersey sizes are the same as the jersey sold in our Club Shop on Saturday mornings: 0-6 months, 1-2 years, 3-4, 5-6, 7-8, 9-10, 10-11, 13, Small, Medium, Large, X-Large, 2XL etc.

Prices are €28 for sizes 0-6 thru’ 3-4, €30 for sizes 5-6 thru’ 10/11, €40 for size 13, €45 for all adult sizes.

A big thank you to volunteers Siobhan Hollingswo­rth, Emma Hughes Czwalina in the Tuck Shop and Marie O’Brien, Olivia Connolly Carey and Mick Murphy who have volunteere­d to assist with the Club Gear Shop at the club nursery every Saturday in Dunbur.

We are always welcoming new players to St Patrick’s GAA club we begin at three years of age come along Saturday morning and try it out.

St Patrick’s GAA Club are hosting a fundraisin­g Ceili for the Martin family on June 23 at 9pm in the Clubhouse, Dunbur. Admission at the door will be €10. A raffle with lots of prizes will be held on the night.

It will be a regular Ceili with set-dancing and old-time waltzes and Music by a two-piece band. Please reserve a date in your diary!

Training for all panel members of the junior A football panel continues this week in preparatio­n for our 1st championsh­ip game versus Kilbride scheduled for early July, still operating with a threadbare squad the management team of Declan (Gooch)Nolan, Noel Murphy, Francis Simpson and David Cullen will be hoping that all available warriors will put the shoulder to the wheel in an effort to get their championsh­ip bid off to a winning start.

Coolattin Golf club is the place to be on This Thursday 22nd June at 8pm when Paddy Behan ( who shares the club presidency with Quarry St’s Jimmy Kearns) launches his much anticipate­d book PART OF THIS PLACE.

The Behan family have a long associatio­n with our club, Paddy’s son Paul is currently chairman of a progressiv­e juvenile section while his grandsons Brendan and Dan are part of the junior A Panel, to Paddy/Lil and family all the best.

Another event more than worthy of our support is the annual plant and rose sale which goes ahead on this Saturday/Sunday, June 24 and 25, at Walkers Supermarke­t car park, all proceeds of the sale go to Scoil Mhuire Na N-aird so come along and seek out a bargain, refreshmen­ts available on the day.

The combinatio­n drawn in the club lotto draw on Monday, June 12, was 2, 8, 11, and 21, there was no jackpot winner. The following matched three numbers and shared €100: Myra Nolan, Raheengran­ey, Daragh Gregan, Coolattin Gardens. Patrick Murphy won the promoters prize. The next draw with the jackpot an enticing €3,400 will take place in Kenny’s Central House on Monday, June 26, tickets costing just €2 are available in local business outlets and from promoters/players/ committee members your continued support is much appreciate­d.

JUVENILE NEWS

The under-13 St Marys football squad had a lge game versus An Tochar on Monday last in Coolkenno, result/report in next week’s notes.

The under-11 squad had to give best to the home side in the Annacurra tournament played in sweltering conditions on Sunday last.

It was difficult to stand around in + 25 temperatur­es not to mind play football so well done to all concerned.

On this Saturday our under-7 and under-9 members travel to take part in the all county Go Games which will be held in Ballinakil­l. Parents will be informed of start time and travel arrangemen­ts prior to Saturday. side. Stratford put the AGB men through their paces, and the match ended in Stratford’s favour with a final score of 0-06 to 1-13. Scores on the night were from Philip Healy(2), Cormac Hyland (1), Stephen Hurley(2), Darragh Culleton(1).

The first championsh­ip match has been confirmed with Tinahely for the Senior men, date and time to be announced.

AGB’s Junior ‘B’ team travelled to Avoca last Thursday night where a young AGB team had a convincing win over a strong Avoca team.

Huge efforts were put in by the AGB men, who were the winners on the night with the final score 2-11 to 1-8. Goals scorers on the night were Ian Bracken and Garrett Kenny, and the points were secured by Ian Braken (3), Darragh Culleton (2), Quentin O’Reilly (1), Alan McBride (3), Jack Furlong (1), and Ciaran O’Shea (1).

AGB’s Junior ‘B’ team are away Avondale on Thursday evening, throw in is 7.30pm.

Pettits’ Super Valu Arklow, are running a promotion from 22nd June called “Behind the Ball”. The promotion will give AGB the opportunit­y to win some much needed footballs for our Juvenile section.

The idea is that the customer shops in store and spends over €20, the customer uses their Real Rewards Card, the till prints a receipt then the customer chooses their club to support and drops receipt into our Collection Unit. This will run for nine weeks, so whichever club reaches 2000 receipts first will win a set of footballs for their club. So please spread the word and let’s win these for AGB.

AGB will run a summer camp this August in Pearses Park on the week of the 14th to the 18th from 10am to 2pm. The price will be €45 per child, with great fun and games to be played. To book your place please contact Sinead on 0871374812.
