Hopkins Toymaster all set to celebrate 190th anniversary

-

HOPKINS Toymaster celebrates 190 years in business on Wicklow’s Main Street with a free birthday party on Saturday, July 8, for the whole family.

There will be plenty of in-store entertainment and give-aways. East Coast FM will also be in the store to celebrate from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m..

The birthday party lasts from 12 noon until 4 p.m. and past and present employees are invited to visit and share their memories of working in Hopkins. They can note their contribution to Hopkins over the past 190 years by filling out an employee memory book to share their experiences.

A number of different events and competitions will take place in the store to mark this milestone. A children’s colouring competition is currently taking place, focusing on the theme of life in the 1820s as JP Hopkins and Sons was established in 1827.

One of the store’s window displays shows an antique cash register and other historical memorabilia.

From now until July 8, Hopkins will run different competitions, one of which is the opportunity for one lucky person to win four passes to Legoland plus a €300 travel voucher to cover transport costs.

On the day of the anniversary party on Saturday, July 8, there will also be special visits by the Toby Toymaster puppy and a Playmobil character, as well as plenty of spot prizes and raffle prizes, not to mention plenty of photo opportunities.
