NEWTOWN JUNIORS

-

Saturday, July 1 is the date for our presentation day.

All the finals for our Mini World Cup will take place on this date (we will have nine finals in total) and we will need a little bit of help to make sure that things run smoothly. So if you are interested in football and can spare an hour or two on finals day (Saturday, July 1) to do maybe a bit of refereeing etc it would be greatly appreciated.

Please note that all children will play on finals day, and you never know the ever-popular “Tiny Tots” game may make a comeback.

All the age groups have been keenly contested and positions are still up for grabs as we play the final group games this week.

You can follow all the fixtures, results, teams etc on our Facebook page.

All sponsor cards recently given out to all players are to be back with the committee on or before Thursday, June 22.

As part of our presentation day we will have loads of fun games, which will include “Bubble Football” for all our teams from the season just finished.

We will also be looking for the penalty king, accuracy king and the top bin king among other things on the day.

Schedule of all the finals etc will be posted on our Facebook and Twitter pages later in the week.

For further information please contact Hughie at 087 6987653.

All our teams made their way to the Grand Hotel in Wicklow Town for the WDSL Presentation day last Sunday were all players from Under-8s-11s were presented with their participation medals and certificates.

Our under-13s collected their runners-up awards for the Premier Cup and Shield while the under-15s collected Cup winners medals and league runners-up medals well done to all our players and thank you to the WDSL committee for organising the day.

We have three players from the club celebrating their birthdays in the coming week and they are Lucas Dowdall from the under-8s and twins Eva and Pat Carey from the under-11s.

Happy birthday all from everyone at Newtown Juniors F.C.

On a sadder note all at Newtown Juniors F.C. extend our sincere condolences to the family and friends of Phyllis Roe who sadly passed away recently. May she rest in peace.
