BRAY BOWLS
Mid Summer’s Day has come and gone and the various leagues have passed the half way stage.
Our Division 4 team were away in Santry last Monday against Sportslink and took home 1 point from a notoriously difficult rink.
Wednesday saw Division 6 take four points home from CYM where Pat Tracey made an impressive debut and Gay Cahill contributed handsomely.
The 3 Vets teams had Thursday to themselves and Vets 1 got 3.5 points in Kenilworth, Vets 2 returned pointless from Herbert Park and Vets 3 got three points from near neighbours Shankill.
Saturday saw the Ladies team defeat Greenhills in Bray, Division 1 take one point home from CYM where Brendan Duffy was outstanding and Eoghan Brady was ‘king of the wicks’.
Division 2 took five points at home to CYM to move off the bottom of the table.
This Monday sees Division 4 at home to Ierne. Wednesday has Ladies Division 1 away to Shankill.
The 3 Vets teams are in action in Bray on Thursday against Leinster, Dun Laoghaire and Westmanstown respectively.
Friday sees a party of bowlers from the Sunshine State of Florida visit Bray for a friendly game at 2.30pm.
There is no truth in the rumour that a former resident of Florida now residing in the White House will make an appearance as a lead.
Airforce 1 could not get permission from ATC to land on the Prom!
So come on down and give a great Bray welcome to our visitors.
Saturday sees Railway Union visit Bray on the double - ladies at 11.00am and Men’s Division 1 at 2.30pm.
