CAR BOOT SALES

Come along on Sunday, July 2, to our monthly feast of bargains and socialisin­g. You can find everything from cream cakes, scones, bread and jam, plants, antiques, clothing, jewellery etc.

Vans must be booked in. Car park spaces for the next month or so will be limited so please prebook indoor spaces early. Contact the Brockagh Centre at 0404 45600 or email laraghit@eircom. net if you wish to book an indoor space.

ACTIVE RETIREMENT

On Tuesday, June 20, the group went on their annual holiday in Ireland. This year twenty four members had a lovely stay in the Clayton Whites Hotel, Wexford.

The trip kicked off with lunch in Rathwood, followed by some shopping. Wexford and Waterford offers some interestin­g day tours which the group availed of, Dunbrody Famine Ship, Waterford and Suir Valley Railway and Johnstown Castle. The Brockagh had arranged music in the hotel for night entertainm­ent.

With an eventful year behind them the weekly Tuesday meetings are ending for the summer break with lunch in the Glenmalure Lodge on July 4 and joining them are friends from Sunbeam.

FITNESS DANCE

Just pop in on Wednesday evenings at 7 p.m. in the Brockagh Centre to dance your socks off with Adam and the class in cardio exercise dancing, dropping those extra calories. You do not need to be a good dancer or very fit, dance at your own pace and enjoy the music. You can contact Adam at 083 3057949 for informatio­n.

ADULT GUIDANCE

Adult Career Guidance Service is available at the Brockagh Centre. This careers/education service is free, friendly, confidenti­al, supportive and available to all adults over 18 years of age.

CITIZEN’S INFORMATIO­N

The Citizens Informatio­n Centre at the Brockagh Resource Centre is open for informatio­n relating to your rights and entitlemen­ts from 10 a.m. till midday on the first and third Tuesday of each month. No appointmen­t is necessary for this free and confidenti­al service.

TAI CHI/QIGONG

The end of this term is June 20 with a new block of classes starting on July 11. Classes are held on Tuesday evenings at 7.30 p.m. in the Brockagh Centre, call Neal to book in.

BASKET-MAKING

This full day, traditiona­l basket-making workshop will teach you basic basketry techniques and will take place in the Brockagh Centre from 9 p.m. to 5 p.m. on July 16 and August 8. IRISH DANCING

Irish Dancing to start on Saturday, September 16, from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. Classes cater for any age over three years and all levels including absolute beginners. Registered members of An Comhdhail, fully Garda Vetted and insured. TAE KWON-DO

A new term for Teens and adults will be starting July 4 Taekwon-Do, a Korean art of Call Master Kenneth Wheatley at 087 2547347 for further informatio­n. Classes are on Tuesdays at 7.45 p.m. to 8.45 p.m. (Seniors and Teens).
