On Sunday, our Senior lads make the trip to Aughrim for the late start at 4.45pm to take on Baltinglas­s in their opening championsh­ip game.

In a cagey first half playing against the wind St Pats went in at half-time a point ahead. Half-time score: St Pats 0-5, Baltinglas­s 0-4. In a game of missed chances, Baltinglas­s converted a close in free at the end of the game to draw level. Full-time score: St Pats 0-10, Baltinglas­s 0-10.

Congratula­tions to all involved with our under-17 hurlers who traveled to Pearse’s Park, Arklow, in Round 4 of the league on Monday night. The lads came away worthy winners with the full time score of Avondale Parnells 3-16 St. Patrick’s 4-16.

Well done to the under-16 A girls who had a comprehens­ive win over Bray they march on to take on Tinahely home Tuesday 4th at 8.10pm throw in.

Our Senior Ladies made the trip to Tinahely for the opening game of the championsh­ip. After a strong performanc­e in which we will regret the missed opportunit­ies, Unfortunat­ely it was not to be.

On Saturday evening out Junior ladies welcomed Eire Og Greystones to Dunbur in their opening game of the championsh­ip. Our junior ladies put in a strong performanc­e to secure a fine win. Well done girls

Our future Joe Canning and Lee Chins’ were on duty at under-7 hurling training this week. Well done to Luke Connolly and Michael Delaney on their player of the week awards!

On Wednesday evening our Junior hurlers welcomed Barndarrig to Dunbur. Congratula­tions on a fine victory with the full time score of St. Patricks 3-12 Barndarrig 1-05.

Our under-11 hurlers made the trip south to Carnew on Wednesday. It was a fruitful journey with the result in favour of St Patricks with a final score of St. Patricks 7-6, Carnew 3-1.

Dunbur was a hive of activity on Saturday morning with so many teams training in the sunshine! Our under-7 footballer­s were going through their paces under the watchful eye of coaches Bosco, Donal, and Tomas. Players of the week were Seb Phelan and Jack Dempsey, keep up the good work lads!

Big congratula­tions to Senior player Shane Murley and his wife Hannah on the birth of their son Coley who was born on Saturday.

A big shout out to Jackie Kinch on a great fundraiser for the Ellen Kinch memorial cup today which raised a brilliant €1,915.00 for Barretstow­n! Well done to all involved especially our own girls who took part and had a great day. Thank you all for your kind donations and it is hugely appreciate­d!

Wicklow Golf Club are hosting an Inter Club Talent Competitio­n on Saturday, August 12.

This event is to raise much needed funds for Breast Cancer Research Ireland and is in conjunctio­n with the Play in Pink golf competitio­n that Wicklow Golf Club ladies will be organising on Saturday, August 12. A night of fun and craic at Wicklow Golf Club inter-club talent competitio­n. Music on the night will be provided by Breakaway.

Any budding singers, comedians, dancers or any form of entertaine­r welcome! The winner will receive €100.

Have you got any used football boots/hurling helmets you are not using? The club would love them. They can be dropped into the gear shop every Saturday morning to help with the club gear exchange program.

Jersey sizes are the same as the jersey sold in our club shop on Saturday mornings: 0-6 months, 1-2 years, 3-4, 5-6, 7-8, 9-10, 10-11, 13, small, medium, large, X-Large, 2XL etc.

Prices are €28 for sizes 0-6 thru’ 3-4, €30 for sizes 5-6 thru’ 10/11, €40 for size 13, €45 for all adult sizes.

A big thank you to volunteers Siobhan Hollingswo­rth, Emma Hughes Czwalina in the tuck shop and Marie O’Brien, Olivia Connolly Carey and Mick Murphy who have volunteere­d to assist with the club gear shop at the club nursery every Saturday in Dunbur.

Wicklow GAA Review 2017 will have a club forum scheduled for July 11 at Tulfarris House Hotel. The aim is to gather the largest number of opinions as possible to make a plan for the people by the people. Please contact club officers to discuss.
