ARKLOW TOWN FC

-

We are most honoured to be hosting a very exciting international friendly tournament this weekend in our grounds in Bridgewater Centre Park as we welcome a select group of players from PEC Zwolle FC to compete in two games against our under-17 DDSL team.

PEC Zwolle are a Dutch club based in Zwolle. The club currently plays in the Eredivisie which is the country’s highest level of club football. They play their home games in the Mac3Park Stadium which has the capacity to hold 13,250 people.

Arklow Town FC are most privileged to be hosting this international friendly tournament and we hope to see a large turnout from all our club personnel, players, managers and supporters of our club to watch these games.

We will have more details on this event during the course of this week on our Facebook page, The Town-Arklow Town FC, so do keep an eye on the page for further updates.

Well done to our under-14A WDSL team player Jack Kavanagh who, along with the rest of the players on this year’s representative Wicklow Kennedy Cup team, received a commemorative trophy for their fantastic performances in Limerick.

The Kennedy Cup team was managed by our under-17 DDSL manager Jim Barnes, with Robbie Moore as assistant manager/head coach.

Their coaching staff comprised of Claude Dagge, Sean Mulligan, Conor Clack and team physio was Ferdia Fallon Verbruggen. Well done to Jack and all the Kennedy Cup team on their great achievement in the tournament and for representing their county with pride, from all of us here in Arklow Town FC.

Our LSL management team of Gavin Doyle and Willie Kavanagh have commenced preseason training.

All past and present players are welcome to attend these sessions and new players who are interested in joining our Senior side are invited to take part.

These open training sessions shall continue every Monday night at 8pm until further notice.

Applications are now being taken for a managerial position with our LSL Saturday team.

This role would essentially suit someone with a strong football knowledge, working with players who have an aptitude and capability to progress in their given league.

Managing and coaching in the fantastic facilities that we provide in Arklow Town FC, this role would be an ideal opportunity for any persons doing coaching badges and to progress their career in their chosen field.

If you would like the challenge and the opportunity to work within our senior side and become part of our greater vision for our Saturday team, we would welcome you to contact Owen Moore on 087 9692542.

Our Little Astros Club continues on Saturday morning (Saturday) at 10am.

This hour long session focuses on the fun element of football and caters for boys and girls aged between four and seven years old. Totally free of charge, it is held under the supervision and guidance of fully qualified coaches.

We look forward to welcoming all our Little Astros to our Astro facility in the morning. Newcomers are always welcome.
