Conditions were good, with sunshine and calm water for the two Across the Harbour races, on Wednesday evening.

Youths – Across the Harbour; first Nikki Moulders, second Dara Owens, third Keith Bently.

Senior – Across the Harbour; first David Smith, second Priscilla Hurley, third Sarah Doyle

Weather conditions remained good for the club races on Sunday as one 182 swimmers competed in races.

As usual the Juniors were first in the water, Junior sprints ; Under 6 Boys: first Dara Mitchell. Under 6 Girls: first Muireann Smith, second Saorla Hartley, third Olivia Guinan.

Under 8 Boys: first Oisin Kearney, second Stephen Bell, third Ryan Cassidy.

Under 8 Girls: first Ruth Connolly, second Niamh O’Neill, third Tara O’Neill.

Under 10 Boys: first David Johnston, second Enan Kearney, third Chris Huilin.

Under 10 Girls: first Aoibheann Hartley, second Sadbh Hartley, third Neasa McGillicud­dy.

Under 12 Boys: first Joss Huilin, second Colm O’Neill, third John Ahearne.

Under 12 Girls: first Molly Mae Sherry, second Ellie Mai Brennan, third Kelly O’Neill.

As the season progresses and the Junior swimmer’s confidence grows, more are swimming the junior Challenge, there were thirty swimming 160 metres in this week’s challenge.

The Intermedia­tes were swimming for the Town Council cup; First Sienne Brennan, second Sadbh Drennan, third Mia Cowdrey.

The Youths had a long race of 1600 metres down the Bay: first Lily Devitt, second Emma Smith, third Emily Clarke.

Mid week races are on Wednesday, July 12, at 6.45 p.m. Intermedia­teChairman­s cup and 7.15 p.m., the senior’s race for the Committee cup.

Racing for Sunday, July 16 starts at 10.15 a.m. for the Junior Sprints, 10.30 a.m. for the Junior Challenge, 11 a.m. for the Intermedia­tes, 11 a.m. Youths B.C sports cup and 12 noon, the seniors race for the Rocky Newsome Memorial cup.
