Knockananna had a great win in Division 3 of the league away to Enniskerry last Sunday morning. This leaves the lads two wins away from Intermediate football for 2018.

Keith Corrigan set the tone early on with a superb goal after 30 seconds. Dereck Kavanagh followed this up with a goal of his own five minutes later.

The score line now read 2-01 to a point and it would have been easy for Enniskerry to fold up their tent and leave, but they got stuck in to the opposition for the next 10 minutes outscoring them 1-02 to a point leaving the half time score 2-05 to 1-03.

The first 20 minutes of the second half was sloppy from both sides and it wasn’t until Alan Byrne fired a rocket to the top corner that Knockananna awoke again.

Keith Corrigan and Lorcan Tyrrell added two further goals leaving the final score 5-10 to 2-06. This is a remarkable result as we are now down to a panel of 17 due to injuries and retirements.

A big thank you to the Enniskerry club who agreed to play this game three days after they played in the championship, as the original fixture was two weeks previous but due to our horrific injury list we were unable to field a team. We now face Valleymount in Aughrim on Saturday at 5pm in the championship. Valleymount are championship favourites and have remained unbeaten all year, racking up massive scorlines in the process so all support would be greatly appreciated.
