Hollywood defeat AGB

-

AGB’S Junior ‘B’ men’s team travelled to Hollywood on Thursday evening for their opening Philip Doyle Junior ‘B’ Football Championship encounter.

The Arklow side faced strong opposition from a very experienced Hollywood team and it was the home team who emerged victorious after a very decetn display on a scoreline of Hollywood 1-17, AGB 2-8.

Next up for Hollywood is an intriguing encounter with Kiltegan in Kiltegan on Thursday evening at 7.30pm

The AGB side will face Lacken at home in Pearse’s Park, also this Thursday. Throw in is at 7.30pm and Lacken will be hoping to bounce back from that disappointing defeat to Blessington last week.

Enniskerry made the long journey across the hills to face Dunlavin on Thursday night last and came away with a comprehensive victory on a score of 2-15 to 1-10 in their championship opener. The black and amber men led by 2-06 to 0-06 at the break and pushed on for a worthy victory in the end.

This Thursday sees the meeting of Avondale and An Tochar in what should be a very interesting tussle in Rathdrum with Christy O’Rourke in charge of events down there.

And there are three Arklow Bay Hotel Junior ‘C’ championship encounters down for decision. Ashford take on a strong looking Kilcoole side, Donard-the Glen welcome Valleymount for an all west clash while Annacurra and Tinahely will go toe to toe yet again in Annacurra in what promises to be a cracker in Annacurra with the home team losing out to Valleymount and the visitors drawing with Coolkenno last week.
