BALTINGLASS GOLF CLUB
This weekend the Lady Captain of Baltinglass GC, Orla O’hEocha, had the final of her Captain’s Prize for 2017 with the qualification having taken place on the previous Thursday.
The weather was hit and miss on the Thursday but it made amends with lovely conditions on Saturday.
Elaine Byrne, who went out in the final groups after a very good 70 in qualifying, really grabbed the competition by the throat and followed up on her 70 with a fabulous 68 on Saturday to win by a clear seven shots.
Overall the day was a great success for Lady Captain Orla who received many compliments from her fellow members for the excellent hosting of her big day and also for the fabulous prizes which were presented to the various winners on Saturday night.
Congratulation to Elaine Byrne on her great victory and to all those players who won prizes on the day.
In the Men’s Captain’s (Louie Fagan) qualifying round on Saturday the leading score was a very impressive 77 Gross off 13 HC by Paddy Sammon to leave him in the lead on Nett 64.
The trio of Brian Foley, Ned Cremin and Jason Seitz all followed behind with nett 66s.
The final round of the Men’s Captains prize will be held next Saturday 29th.
The Captains Prize presentation and meal will take place at 7pm next Saturday along with the ‘Grand Raffle’ draw
