CONCERTS IN CALARY
Two more exciting concerts to look forward to in Calary Church have been announced. Firstly, they will welcome Duo Chagall (Arun Rao, cello and Gillian Williams, violin) together with Lance Coburn, piano, to Calary Church at 8 p.m. on Friday, August 4. They will perform Schumann’s Piano trio in G Minor, Ravel’s Sonata for Violin and Cello and Brahms’ Piano Trio in B.
The next concert in then takes place at 8 p.m. on Friday, August 11, when the Watterton Piano Trio, which consists of Simon Watterton (piano), Anna Cashell (violin) and Aoife Nic Athlaoich (cello), will perform Beethoven’s Archduke Trio and Caesar Franck’s Violin Sonata together with pieces by Debussy, St Saen’s and De Falla. Tickets, which are €18 and €15 for concessions for each of these concerts, can be booked by ringing John at 01 2818146 or emailing derekneilson@eircom.net.

cuttings, old photographs and memorabilia are of real interest to the society. For those who have a story to tell, we will make a recording, which can be transcribed into manuscript form.

ON WICKLOW U13 TEAM
the Wicklow under-13 Team that defeated Laois and Wexford while Peter O’Toole was part of the under-14 Wicklow Team that beat Louth. Well done lads and a proud day for you, your parents and coaches.
PLUCKS GOLF SOCIETY
byrne (37 points), Category 2 was Paddy Byrne Snr (34 pts) and Category 3 winner was Brendan Finnerty (32 points). The Front 9 prize was won by Liam Finnerty while the Back 9 prize was won by Paul Murphy. The two nearest the pins prizes were won by Captain Gerry Touhy (17th) and Ed mulligan (fourth) while the longest drives were hit by Eddie byrne and Paul Dunne.
Once again, a big thanks to Helen and Nick from Plucks for sponsoring the goodie bags for the golfers.
PATRICK KING MEMORIAL
many of the panels that played in the 2002 Carton Walsh Cup Final between Glencormac United and St Fergal’s which was one of Patrick’s proudest days in a Glens shirt. All money raised will go to AWARE to remember ‘The Great Kinger’ and a monster raffle will be held in Plucks after where some great entertainment has been laid on.
