GAR­DEN SHOW

Russ­bor­ough House 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. With a top line-up of speak­ers and flower ar­rang­ing demon­stra­tions, along with a mar­ket­place and re­tail court­yard packed with spe­cial­ist plants, tools, books, gar­den fur­ni­ture, bar­be­cues, cloth­ing and other gar­den es­sen­tials, this gar­den show prom­ises to have some­thing to picque the in­ter­est of the gar­den ex­pert and am­a­teur alike. There will also be a num­ber of fam­ily ac­tiv­i­ties for bud­ding gar­den­ers in the walled gar­den. Ad­mis­sion: €8 for adults (€6 for RHSI mem­bers), chil­dren free.

CAR­TOON FES­TI­VAL

Mar­ket Square, Rath­drum Noon to 10 p.m. The first full day of events of the re­vived In­ter­na­tional Car­toon Fes­ti­val in­cludes the of­fi­cial open­ing of the fes­ti­val at noon, the Bur­lesque Baker kids bak­ing demon­stra­tion at 12.30 p.m., face­paint­ing from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m., the bar staff race at 4.30 p.m., the glam­orous granny com­pe­ti­tion at 7 p.m. and prom night from 8 p.m. There will also be plenty of mu­sic through­out the day.

TERRY WILLERS EX­HI­BI­TION

Up­stairs at Cen­tra, Rath­drum Noon to 6 p.m. The ‘Re­mem­ber­ing Terry Willers’ ex­hi­bi­tion is one of the must-see events at the In­ter­na­tional Car­toon Fes­ti­val. It prom­ises to be very en­ter­tain­ing and might even rekin­dle old mem­o­ries of po­lit­i­cal dra­mas and cul­tural events cov­ered by Terry in his unique way over his 60-year-plus ca­reer.

LEGALLY BLONDE: THE MU­SI­CAL

Mer­maid Arts Cen­tre 8 p.m. The se­nior per­form­ers from Shee­vawn Mu­si­cal Youth Group are bring­ing this much-loved movie to the stage. Tick­ets, priced at €20, are avail­able from mer­maid­arts­cen­tre. ie or by call­ing 01 2724030.

BARN DANCE

Moneystown Com­mu­nity Cen­tre 8.30 p.m. Don your cow­boy boots and stet­sons and head over to the fundrais­ing barn dance and bar­be­cue in aid of the com­mu­nity cen­tre.There will be mu­sic by the Three Bobs and Roamin Cadil­lacs and then a disco af­ter­wards. Ad­mis­sion: €20.

Rath­new House, Rath­new 9.30 p.m. Come and en­joy the best lo­cal tal­ent as part of the Wick­low Re­gatta Fe­ti­val Singing Pubs com­pe­ti­tion.
