Lots of scares at Coollattin House

THERE will be plenty of things going bump in the night – and day – as the historic Coollattin House throws open its door for some terrifying tours this Halloween

South Wicklow Drama Festival has teamed up with Coollattin House to host the scary Halloween tours on Saturday, October 28, and Sunday, October 29, as a fundraiser to help with the costs of hosting the 2018 All Ireland Drama Festival in Carnew next April.

Children’s tours will take place on Saturday and Sunday from 3 p.m. until 6 p.m. Dorothy has been swooped up by a tornado and transporte­d to Coollattin House and the children must help to break the magic spell that will help her on her way. The tour will include crafts, face-painting and a Punch and Judy show. All children must be accompanie­d by an adult and the admission fee is €10.

Adult tours will start at 7.30 p.m. until 10.30 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. The visitors will have an opportunit­y to check out the nooks and crannies and experience the hidden secrets of the house. Admission fee is €10.

Adults can also enjoy Dracula’s Ball fancy dress party from 10 p.m. on Sunday night in Coollattin House. There will be musical entertainm­ent from Right as Rain and prizes will be given out for best dressed. Tickets are €10.
