DRAMA FESTIVAL THANKS

Following on from Coolgreany’s One Act Drama Festival the committee would would like to thank the following.

Eddie O’Brien and Nick Delany for their work on Lights and Sound. Andy Kinsella on Parking, Irene and Seán Condren and Eileen Brennan on tea, Carl Nuzum and Michéal Murphy on Stage Management Assistance, Bogdan Klimek for his help with the Marquee. Ordinary members, Romayne Farrell, Paula Darcy, Finola Montgomery, Mark Canavan, Frank Duffy, Ned Dempsey and Eamonn O’Sheil, who gave freely of their help both back stage and Front of house. Advertiser­s and sponsors all who featured in the programme.

The AGM of Old Kilnenor Historical Society took place on Thursday, November 2, in the May Byrne Trust House in Coolgreany.

New Members are welcome. Membership is €20 for the year.

Next Talk: Kevin Lee (retired Principal Carnew) will give a talk on Thursday, November 16, in May Byrne Trust House in Coolgreany. Kevin will give a talk on the Coolattin Estate and surroundin­g areas history.

The annual Parish Sale of work and auction will take place on Sunday, November 19, in the RDA hall. Raffle tickets are on sale now. Donations of saleable items can be made on Saturday, November 18, from 2 p.m. at the RDA hall.

RATHDRUM BNS

Pupils in Rathdrum Boys National School dressed up for Halloween on Friday, October 27, and donated €230 to the St Colman’s Patient Benefit Fund. A big thank you to the boys and their parents for their support.

MEMORIAL 5K WALK/RUN

Rathdrum Tidy Towns will hold their annual Memorial 5k Walk/ Run on November 18, starting at 11 a.m. from Avondale GAA complex, registrati­on at 10.15. Entry fee €5 p.p. with a special family rate. Route around the ‘Fish Pond’.

This has been taking place for a few years and is always a very poignant event where we remember our loved ones who have passed and the sick in the community. As always there will be momento of the day. There will also be refreshmen­ts provided afterwards.
